EAMN - European age management network
The first meeting of EAMN, European Age Management Network, was held in Brussels in October 2007. In November 32 people from 13 different European countries met in Brussels to discuss basic principals for the network. After two days of fruitful discussions some decisions were taken.
The meeting agreed on the following definition of age management:
Age management promotes longer and better quality working life across the life-course in a way that is favourable for employers as well as individuals and society.
The vision for EAMN is to develop and extend the concept of age management to a common understanding as a mechanism to successfully embrace demographic changes facing the labour market across the life-course, and to promote age management in practice at the levels of the individual, enterprise and society.
A statement was also accepted and a working group elected. For full information, please visit the home page.
Conferences will be organised in Schwerin in Germany, April 17-18, in Boden in Northern Sweden, June 25 -26 and in United Kingdom later this year.
