Vilans
Vilans is a merger organisation of the Netherlands Institute for Care and Welfare (NIZW), the Institute for Home Care innovations (KITTZ) and the Institute for Assistive Technology (KBOH). Since the first of January 2007, Vilans is an independent organization dedicated to improve quality of life of people with special needs. For example: frail older people, people with learning disabilities, people with physical or sensory disabilities and people who suffer from chronical illness.
Vilans work is a combination of innovation, research and development, knowledge diffusion and implementation of good practices. Vilans informs and supports providers of care, housing, welfare, work and education, professionals and volunteers in the field, user organisations and authorities at local, provincial, national and EU level. This results in advice, change process support, training courses, conferences, publications, websites, videos and an information helpline.
